Smart Sensors Toolkit, the new wireless sensor hardware and secure cloud by 30MHz, uses Digi XBee modules to provide wireless connectivity to enhance smart sensing using a cloud-based platform that can operate thousands of sensors.

30MHz offers a cloud-based infrastructure and wireless sensors to collect metrics and provide insights for businesses. The Smart Sensors Toolkit uses Digi XBee modules to enhance smart sensing this plug-and-play solution designed for deploying thousands of devices with centralized monitoring, from any industrial environment. Jasper Geutsen, a technical lead at 30MHz explains why fast integration and reliable connectivity is critical and how Digi XBee modules are transmitting sensor readings that improve efficiency, output, and safety.

My name is Jasper Geurtsen. I'm a Technical Lead at 30MHz. 30MHz is a company with a sensor toolkit, where we have wireless sensors, where we monitor physical items in the real world. So, we enable businesses to have real time metrics of physical things so they can improve their businesses.

We talk to the customer, and they will say, "Yeah, we have this and this kind of problem. We want to have insights in this. Do you have a sensor for that? Can you build it?" And then we, together, we build a sensor.

This is an infrared temperature sensor. You use this in a greenhouse. We have a big cloud-based infrastructure which can handle thousands of sensors. So, we have this, it hooks up, and we point this at the pepper, so we know exactly the fruit temperature of the pepper. So, they can put the temp to a bit higher so that they have better peppers and less damages, because if the temperature is too high, the pepper destroys itself.

We had some questions about certain scenarios in our fields, in the mesh networking, and we planned a meeting with Technical Sales from Digi, and they helped us really out to... They have good feedback that we're on the right track or not on the right track.

It used a Digi ZigBee module, and that was two and a half years ago, and one year ago, we decided to change to DigiMesh 868 for Europe. And the modules always works, very reliable, very mature environment to develop, so the integration of the modules was extremely fast, I think. That's a huge benefit.
